Spot of Delight
Bondage 101
$30.00
4-6pm (2 hours)
This class is an introduction to bondage and restraints. This workshop will satisfy your curiosity and help you to play safe. We will learn about the relevant health and safety, informed enthusiastic consent, negotiating a scene, and all the fun implements you will need.
This is not a dry lecture. Practice finding at-risk joints and nerves on yourself so you can learn risk-reduction bondage techniques. You will also get to play with different toys and restraints as we explore how they are used together. By the end you will have learned and practiced a simple rope tie that can be used anywhere at home!
We will be introducing you to lower-risk activities only, and informing you how to keep these activities in the low-risk zone, as well as some risk-reduction strategies for the more adventurous.
Specific topics will include...
-the concept of risk aware consensual kink (RACK)
-tips and tricks for enhancing sensation
-nerve compression and avoiding danger zones
-the warning signs of lost circulation
-monitoring and checking in with top and bottom
-the traffic light system vs safe words vs non-verbal communication
-categorizing risk levels in different bondage and supervision scenarios
-how to avoid asphyxiation and positional asphyxiation
-safe calls
-taking breaks for hydration, nutrition, rest, communication and washroom
-quick escape with emergency supplies
-what to do with those bruises and rope marks
-after-care for bottom and top
-plush leather padded collars and cuffs and different forms of rope
-more abrasive forms of bondage that aren't so comfy
-referrals to the local kink community and intermediate rope bondage classes
Things that we will NOT cover are more advanced and intermediate topics. We will not cover the how-to's of any form of suspension, not even partial suspensions. No facial bondage, neck bondage (except collars), and no breast bondage will be mentioned here in the beginner class.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? You, your friends, your partner(s), your neighbor. Anyone interested in, curious about, or already involved in light bondage. If you've already been playing for a while, you will probably still learn some life-saving safety tips.
